Internet Marketing Baby Steps

What a great concept it is to be able to sit in front of your computer for a few hours a day and receive checks in the mail for it.

I’m sure many people would find this a very appealing idea instead of slogging it everyday at some lousy day job in where your work tasks, hours and salary are all dictated to you.

Working from home is something many people would love to do , yet are afraid to take the plunge because of the fear of not having any job security. Another factor is for those who would really like to work for themselves, don’t really know what type of business they would like to operate.

A brick a mortar business is a costly affair which can require thousands upon thousand of dollars in investments, without having any safety net if things don’t work out according to plan. This is the biggest fear most people have who are considering starting up a business, which is understandable since it is all too easy to lose one’s shirt, especially in these tough economic times.

So what is a good way to start a home based business with out investing a lot of money ?

First of all , we have to realize how lucky we really are today. Never before in the history of mankind have we had the opportunity to be able to become financially self sufficient as we are today. Now this may seem like a contradictory statement when we hear about or have been affected by massive job layoffs, the housing slump and all other factors that are making up our terrible economy as we know it today.

What is it that we are so lucky about ? Well the internet of course. It you put your mind to it, you can soon discover how much easier it is to make money online as opposed to starting up a traditional type of business which involves large investments.

The thing you need the most with internet marketing, is not money, but knowledge. It will cost you very little in terms of financial investment. The basic operating costs for an internet marketing business is paying for a hosting service, which can cost as little a $ 100.00 -$ 150.00 a year, plus the purchase of your domain names which you can get for as little as $ 6.00 each per year in some cases.

That’s basically it. Not very expensive huh ? For that amount of investment anybody could start their own home based business. The real question is how do you go about it ? What do you need to know ?

Before doing anything else, the first thing you should do is join some internet marketing forums. The Warrior forum is an excellent place to start. Get an account and start reading as many posts as you can, at this point you don’t have to know what type of approach you are going to take, just try to absorb as much as you can. At first all this information will be overwhelming, but there are many great people in these forums who are there to help.

Second is to post questions, don’t worry about posting “dumb” questions, remember, there are no dumb questions as there are a lot of people that are very new to internet marketing in these forums as well. And let’s face it , everybody started the same way, unfortunately one cannot take internet marketing courses at college or university, not that I am aware of any way.

So you have to start somewhere.

Next buy some internet marketing courses, this is a fantastic way to get a good foundation an how to start and what to do. Again ask around in the forums. There are many very well established and successful internet marketers that offer their e-book and video courses that provide some great information for beginners.

If you join the Warrior forum or any other internet marketing forums, often there will be a special section that offers these courses at a discount simply because you are a member of the forum. You can get some fantastic courses and programs for very little money. In many cases you can buy some great internet marketing courses for as little as $ 30.00 -$ 40.00 and the wealth of information you can get in my opinion is many times worth that
